Artist statement:
Chris Dalvean is a Melbourne-based artist and object maker whose art practice responds to pointed vagaries of existence while straddling the vanguard of blah blah blah, blah blah, blah blah blah blah blah phenomenological blah blah blah. Blah blah blah notions blah blah, blah blah blah doobie doobie doo blah blah blah blah, blah investigation blah; blah blah blah blah blah blah puppies.

Perhaps you know about those “choose your own adventure” stories where the reader gets to the end of a chapter and is then given options for where to go next. This page is a little like that. Since 2009 it has been an occasional requirement that I furnish an “artist” or “catalogue” statement. These declarations help explain concepts and give incites into an artist's mindset. Naturally these tend to change over the course of time as things evolve. This page is a collection of some of my artist statements, catalogue statements and short bios to date, in order to give you a feel for my “journey”. To be accurate it’s more a “choose your own idiot adventure". The difference being, no matter what you choose, it all leads to the same destination: a one-way ticket to planet awesome-sauce.
